Greg Cox

First Assistant Secretary, International Aviation, Technology and Services Division

Department of Infrastructure 


Greg Cox is the First Assistant Secretary, International Aviation, Technology and Services Division. In his current role he leads the division with responsibility for international aviation matters, aviation agency governance and safety policy, emerging technologies (including policy relating to RPAS and AAM), low carbon fuels, accessibility policy and the delivery of air space design for Western Sydney Airport. The division also has significant responsibility for bilateral air services negotiations and aviation environmental matters, as well as a range of complex infrastructure initiatives in the rail sector.
Greg has twenty years’ experience in the Australian Public Service, holding senior executive positions within Education, Communications, Treasury, Infrastructure and Home Affairs. He has worked on the personal staff of two Cabinet ministers. Prior to joining the public service, Greg served in military and law enforcement roles. He has an Honours degree in political philosophy from the University of New South Wales and Master's degrees in international relations and public policy from the Australian National University.
