Shaun Barlow

Shaun Barlow is the Lead Robotics and Mechanical Engineer at the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), where he oversees the development and deployment of autonomous marine platforms. This portfolio includes emerging and established systems such as Reefcat, CoralAUV, Blueboat, and Hydrus, which support AIMS’ mission in marine research and environmental monitoring.

Prior to joining AIMS in 2025, Shaun served as Chief Product Officer at Reach Robotics. In this role, he led the global rollout and integration of advanced subsea robotic manipulator technologies, collaborating with organizations including the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG - Aus), the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC - USA), and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL - UK).
