| Pip Spence PSM Chief Executive Officer and Director of Aviation Safety CASA Pip Spence was appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Director of Aviation Safety for the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) in May 2021. CASA is the independent statutory authority responsible for maintaining and ensuring aviation safety in Australia. Under her leadership, CASA is committed to being a safety authority that is focused, transparent, collaborative, and actively engaged with industry and the broader aviation community. Pip’s extensive career in the public service ranges from complex program delivery, policy development and legislative reform and regulatory oversight. Before joining CASA she was a Deputy Secretary at the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications. Pip’s leadership reflects a clear vision: to foster a culture of safety that is built on trust, mutual respect, and open dialogue – ensuring that CASA remains a modern, responsive, and effective aviation safety authority. |
