Peter Smith

B.Eng (Aero), B.Econ, FRAeS, FUniSA

Peter Smith is one of Australia’s most experienced senior industry figures in Unmanned Systems and Advanced Air Mobility, having spent over 20 years in leading positions in companies, advocacy organisations and universities. 

He has been Vice President of The Australian Association for Uncrewed Systems (five years), a Director of AUVSI, the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International headquartered in Washington, DC (6 years). He is a regular speaker at Australian and international AAM and UAS conferences, including the USA, UK, Singapore, New Zealand, and the South Pacific.

Recent activities have involved a role as Strategic Advisor to the Swinburne University AIR Hub, a R&D innovator linking research institutions and industries to develop new generation approaches to AAM and UAS. 

He is currently involved in the development of a proposed national AAM Cooperative Research centre.
