Ashim Panta
Head of UAS Capability
Praetorian Aeronautics
I’m an aerospace engineer, researcher, and product
development lead with a lifelong passion for flight and autonomous systems.
Holding a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, my research into unsteady
aerodynamics and bio-inspired flight control has shaped a career that blends
academic depth with hands-on innovation. I have extensive experience across the
full development and operational lifecycle of Unmanned Aerial Systems.
Throughout my career, I’ve led multidisciplinary teams through the complete
product development cycle—from early-stage concept development and prototyping
to testing, certification, and commercialization. I’ve overseen the delivery of
several UAS platforms and technologies, driving projects that require rigorous
engineering, strategic direction, and cross-functional collaboration.
As an R&D / Engineering Lead I thrive in roles where I can bring structure
to complexity — aligning engineering teams, navigating technical challenges,
and keeping the long-term vision in focus. I bring a hands-on leadership style
rooted in systems thinking, and a deep understanding of the technical,
regulatory, and operational challenges of aerospace innovation.
Areas of expertise: Engineering Leadership, UAS Design, UAS Operations, Test
and Evaluation, Flight Dynamics, CAD, Fluid Mechanics, Research and Analysis,
Aerodynamics, UAS Airworthiness, and Airspace Regulations.
