Update on RPAS in Australian Skies 2020 from the AAUS President

AAUS is committed to safety – this commitment extends beyond the safe operation of remotely piloted aircraft but also to the events and activities we provide as an organisation.

In light of the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation, the AAUS Executive have made the precautionary decision to postpone the RPAS in Australian Skies 2020 Conference and 2020 AAUS Gala Dinner. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience this is likely to cause but we believe this decision is in the best interests of all attendees, speakers, and staff. We also believe we have a moral obligation to do our bit in reducing the potential spread of COVID-19, even if current Government advice does not prevent us from moving forward with our event.

To our registrants, speakers and sponsors, rest assured that we still plan to deliver a quality event – it just won’t be next week. The AAUS Event Committee are working with the conference venue to reschedule the conference. We are also exploring options to host parts of the event virtually; as we feel it’s essential to keep industry conversation on critical issues moving forward. So standby, you’ll hear more from us on this soon!

Again, the COVID-19 situation is something none of us expected nor wanted to have to face. We hope you understand our position and thank you for your continued support.

We also welcome your feedback and are happy to speak with you directly should you have questions or concern. In the meantime, we hope you keep safe and well.
