The amendment to Part 101 of Civil Aviation Safety Regulation (CASR 1998) will come into force in late September this year. The amendment and explanatory statement can be found here:
Reading and interpreting the amendment can be difficult. To assist members to read and understand what the new regulations mean for them and their business, AAUS has put together the attached document. You will note that other groups have been quick to release their interpretation of the new regulations. Conversely, AAUS has sought clarification from CASA on a number of key points that may be open to interpretation. With that said, the below document should only be used as guidance, and should not be taken as an official or formal statement CASA’s interpretation or position in relation to the new regulations.
AAUS will also be providing a free educational presentation as part of the CivSec 2016 Conference, to further assist members in understanding the new regulations. Attendance is free, and we highly recommend you take advantage of the session and other informative presentations on insurance, and managing risk and privacy matters.
